Want to see more of these, then travel the city around the rainy season. The Nzulezu city is about 7hour drive west of Africa.

Now as you arrive at the town, you will be thrilled by how the inhabitants are floating on the lake of Tadane. Their buildings are made of stilts and platforms, the most amazing thing is, these people go about their activities like crazy, not giving a damn about the fact that they are living on top of water. That my friend! is a site to behold.

Their main occupation is farming in neighbouring towns and fishery. The city is also a popular site for local alcohol production.

According to history, the ancestors were brought to the present place by a snail and hence settled there permanently. They named the place Nzulezu meaning “surface of water”. The people migrated from present day Mauritania; a city called Walata.

There are other beautiful site seeing around the city of Nzulezu, like the fort Apollonia in Beyin. It happens to be one of the smaller historical coastal forts in Ghana.

The city was built over water for protection during attacks in times of war and it is believed that the lake averts possible catastrophes like fire outbreaks.
